As there is currently no other way to linearize than by purchasing the

Epson's Colorbase linearisation or calibration could give a
suitable base for RGB printer profiling. It's new and the
printer models it works for are new too so it is a bit early
to be sure about this. But if it works for the Epson profiles
why shouldn't it work for custom RGB profiles with third party
papers that suit the paper settings ( = ink limitation, black
generation, etc) of the Epson driver. Colorbase is free.
If the original Epson profiles had editing done to them to
give a good fit on an odd Epson calibration base then all
screws are loose. But that seems unlikely. It would be better
and faster then to do some computing on the measurement data
before a profile is created, or possibly easier: use a target
that isn't corresponding 1:1 to the reference data. Using an
editor on the profile to correct bad linearisation at the
other end must be like fighting a battle uphill. It is more
likely that the Colorbase calibration will work alright and
doesn't need any tinkering.
