Hi,
I have a job ready to go. In the preliminary discussions, the prepress
bureau I am newly working with assured me that they had a proper
ColorSync chain installed. When they opened my work for check-up, I
noticed that their Adobe software is set to "discard profiles". Ouch!
So I explained to them how to check the correct boxes in the color
management window. Now, I have this question: the new Adobe prepress
settings are Fogra ISO Coated. It used to be Eurocoated V2, which gave
me the best results in the past and that's the files that I am printing
are in. The job will be sent to Italy to be printed there. The prepress
operator here said he would now "honour" the Eurocoated V2 profile when
he imports the Illustrator files in X-Press (for Mac OS9). I have no
idea if X-Press honours the profiles or not. What should I do in order
to have the most predictable color? Is there a way to safeguard my work
by using such or such profile or file format, as it is too late to
change the service provider due to the deadlines? Thanks for your help
if you can do something for me!
Regards
Paul Schilliger
