Hello Paul,

Am 24.11.2005 um 17:31 schrieb Paul Schilliger:
When they opened my work for check-up, I noticed that their Adobe software is set to "discard profiles".

This may not be an error:
If their colormanagement is set up to ISOcoated, it would be used internally for the preview.
You will get a proof of how your Euroscale coated document would print in an ISOcoated process

the new Adobe prepress settings are Fogra ISO Coated. It used to be Eurocoated V2

The main differences between Euroscale and the ISO colors are (quote of ISO 2846-1):
– Desaturation (Chroma) of Cyan and Magenta;
– Change in Hue for Yellow to Red;
– Change in Hue for Cyan to Green;

Change in tonal increase.
All of this will, of course, influence your grey-balance.

I have no idea if X-Press honours the profiles or not.

Chances are big that X-Press colormanagement is turned off.

What should I do in order to have the most predictable color?

1) Review your work again by assigning ISOcoated. If it look ok, leave them as they are,
if not, you'll have to convert them to ISOcoated.

2) If your work is finished, change your settings to ISOcoated (NOT EuropeISOCoatedFOGRA27), -> www.eci.org
I can't believe why Adobe chose another name for a standard.

Hope this helps

Rolf
