Yes, a number of organizations request that just a few profiles (based
on paper group/print process) are used for the CMYK transformations.
And used as output intent so in simulating output conditions on a
remote (hard and soft-) proof or in a PDF, one can see what will be
printed. That's what the end users want, I think.
So use the profiles based on Fogra characterization data!

Is this a particularity of Switzerland, I don't know! It could be that
we are a bit nay sayers and retarded. But when you ask a printer what
profile you should use, most of the time the printer asks that the files
are sent as CMYK without profile. For me it would be fine if I knew how
to make a CMYK file without profile! In Adobe's I have never seen this
option. You have to chose one profile or another for the conversion, so
the plain CMYK values are always altered. In Adobe's I can't even find a
way to preview what the image looks like in plain CMYK values. It will
always compare to the default CMYK profile set in Color preferences. It
could be that I am missing something, is there a tip there? How can I
preview for example what plain CMYK values look like in my monitor profile?
