Also as does the HP DJ Auto Closed Loop Calibration which is patented
hardware/ software, the calibrations also bring the printer back into
factory expectations for a given condition. So for OEM media and third party
if the printer is optimised into a factory spec, the profiles created for
this conditions can easily be maintained using the calibration to validate
and correct for deviation.
This is very useful for remote profiling, and even remote proofing with JDF.
I also see this as a effort by Epson to standardise the inter device
agreement up to the level of their LFP's which are supposedly linearised at
the factory before shipping.
