There is a low rez preview that is embedded in most RAW files for this task.
The rendering will be different from other applications if they are building
their own from the RAW data. However, that doesn't mean the RAW data is
intact if that's your question. I actually convert from the card into .DNG
which in that process verifies the data. Or you can let Bridge build it's
high rez previews (actually it's Adobe Camera RAW doing the work and it's
using the current settings to render the color). That will verify the data.
