We've profiled our LightJet media for over 5 years now, with excellent
results. All we ask from our customers is to provide either Adobe RGB or
EktaSpace RGB files. Our front end RIP (ColorBurst Pro) processes all
the necessary conversions, and we simply print the resulting TIF files
through the LightJet RIP.
We don't normally provide our output profiles, as they change as
required when the manufacturers change the media selections (which is
happening with increasing frequency). The match to a calibrated display
is well within reason.
Process control is always an issue with photographic media; a well
managed quality controlled lab is key. The LightJet has its own
linearization routine, with its own acceptable tolerances to protect
against drift in the lasers.

The only reason I find that somewhat suspicious is I've successfully
profiled a few Lightjets for some labs. I guess it's possible they have
their system setup as "closed loop" but that's certainly not the only
option.
