That holds for imagery, but not for things like type or flat tints of
gray. The 45ยบ is optically smoother and reduces the incidence of edge
effects.
I thought we were discussing CYMK printing here and not single colour flat
tints, besides where are the edge effects going to appear on a flat
tint....and surely no one is going to print screened text these days.
