The R2400 Epson has a USB 2.0 port and firewire port. I have been using
it with two computers, one plugged into firewire and the other into the
USB. I leave them plugged in and it works fine without any conflicts,
so long as I print only one computer at time. If you have more than two
computers to network to one printer, I don't have a solution for the
R2400.
But perhaps this will help.
A recent review of the Epson R2400 by Ben Long on the CreativePro site
(<http://www.creativepro.com/story/review/23514.html?cprose=daily>)
mentions
that "the printer lacks any networking features, either built-in or
optional."
I currently have a 2200, to which I have added an Ethernet card. It's
very
disappointing to hear that such an option has been taken out by Epson
for
the R2400.
Can anyone confirm this?
If this is true, how else can one print to it *without* adding a
server CPU
to the network? Any Airport options for FireWire or USB?
Thank you.
