Untagged tif with Phase One.

I have gotten a hold of Phase
One to be able to assign a third party profile during raw conversion. Ideally I would be profiling an untagged
tif file but as far as I can tell this program cant produce an untagged tif. The
closest I have come is by selecting no color correction in other profile
option, but this produces a tif file that is tagged phase one no color
correction and which is actually the result of a conversion to sRGB.
Here are my two
questions:
Does it really matter that the
tif file I use to generate a camera profile has already undergone a conversion
such that the numbers I am profiling are actually sRGB numbers and not the
original digitised control signals produced by the CCD array of my
camera?
According to Colorthink, my
camera chip produces a colour space which is considerably larger than sRGB in
many places. How would these
colours be communicated through a conversion to
sRGB?
Is there another way that I
have not discovered that would allow me to produce an untagged tif with Phase
One to enable me to create the camera profile that I would like to be able
select as a third party profile for future files.
Any help would be appreciated
thank you.
