Please correct:

Edmund,
Thank you for your continued interest and assistance.
My pleasure!
The backing should not affect the measurements. This
change is a good indication that GMB wants to keep that
product alive, a question I specifically asked to one of
their sales manager yesterday, and which he confirmed.
The red, blue, orange-yellow and purple vary more from
chart to chart than other colors. Please note that I
calculate the deviation in CIELAB and these differences
are often lower when computed in CIE94 (or DE2000).
Except for the red, your chart is within 1.1 DeltaE*ab
of the average I have so far, which is quite good (even
considering the red patch!). The red is 3.4 DeltaE*ab (or
1.7 CIE94) from the average. This kind of difference is
visible when the two patches are side by side but almost
impossible to differentiate when looked at separately.
What is the manufacturing date of your chart (usually
shown in the back)?

Danny,
Thank you for your continued interest and assistance.
The Classic Colorchecker chart I just purchased has a
plastic backing.
Colors are within a few deltaE of the averaged chart
from your site,
but not a perfect match for any of us chickens on this
list.
Edmund
and the others should clarify the "memory colors"
effect.
But... you mentioned "plastic" chart, did you make your
measurements on a ColorChecker SG (Semi-Gloss)?
If yes, then almost all colors which represent the
traditional ColorChecker on this new chart are different
from the original ColorChecker and should not be
compared
with these. Are they different enough to trigger memory
effects?
