Title: Re: Custom profiles with RAW
Andrew,
Thanks for the information I
requested. By
.
Ive actually done this in
Adobe Camera RAW but the benefits if any are
questionable
Are you saying that you have found a way to bypass Camera Raws default
generic profile or are you saying that you have successfully profiled on top of
the inherent Camera Raw conversion.
The
reason I am asking is that I am trying to be able to go directly from a custom
input profile to ProPhoto for studio repro work.
I am concerned that some camera colours
which are out of gamut in Adobe 1998 will be lost unless I can go directly from
a good input profile to ProPhoto.
Is
my assumption correct?

Bibble for one allows a linear rendering
(untagged) in which you can build a profile on top of. Ive also been able
to accomplish the same task from Kodak DCS cameras using their supplied
converter. Im sure there are others but off hand, those two have worked in
the past.
Ive actually done this in Adobe Camera RAW but the benefits
if any are questionable.
