Well, I just completed my first Backlit job and I must say the results were
EXTREMELY good. I am quite pleased.
I profiled the media (front printing) as reflective.
The prints were done on a 9600 with UC inks.
Now for the 'No' part. When the prints are placed in the light box, there
is no problem with the color but the problem is with the Density (very
noticeable when viewing a true DuraTrans along side. The Black just isn't
there. The EXPENSIVE solution I have read about is a 100% cure; PRINT 2
IMAGES AND PLACE IN REGISTER. I happen to have two images with Per. and
Rel. Rendering Intents for comparison.
No one mentioned that if the job required 30 prints you would go broke in
loses. If I place unprinted media (same media) behind the print than this
helps a bit, but not quite enough.
My next test will be to bleed out the Photo Black and Try the Matte Black
cartridge.
I'm committed now, so if I don't come up with SOMETHING, I'm screwed [in
loses].
Someones tip about adjusting the Rip Calibration Curve, independent of the
profile was very helpful in restoring Gain.
I'm up for any creative suggestions
