What a load of air. The start off by hacking the V2.1 vs V4 ICC spec for
interoperability then at the end say hmm our new CMA will unfortunately only
work with new OS and programs as it has no backwards interoperability.
ICC version 4 with a smart CMM can do most of anything proposed by this doc.
Open and transparent is stated in the doc, but that'll only be to those who
are forced to adapt by Microsoft's typically gentle open architecture
policies!
There could be some good come from this. Decidedly Windows could have made
things easier and better on the Os side rather than leaving it for the more
capable developers ( including small and big alike) before, so now it seems
they want to catch up and take over and save the world of colour.
Even with our differences to things like gamma 1.8 vs 2.2 let's give a hand
of applause to Apple , it's hard working developers, and all the third party
dev's that have quietly and continuously tried to make the MacOs platform a
joy for colour use.
