Without having actually looked at it, I can say it will have one
advantage over ICC : by not being an open standard dependent on the
consensus of multiple people (which happen to have other occupations),
it can advance as fast as they want.
So it could incorporate those things that people in this and other
lists consider a 'wishlist for the next version of ICC', but today.
And that is quite dangerous. I mean, for Microsoft to propose a
technology under it's control in a way that it could become a defacto
standard, that's always dangerous and that's what Microsoft always try
to do.
But what really scares me is that it could indeed be better, given the
slow pace at which the ICC develops, approves and publishes new
standards.
