A friend of mine once lent me one of those SONY VPLxxx LCD projector which produces 1800 lumens. Very bright. He was telling me that he was using it in his living room, projecting on his "green" walls! I said "green"? He said yes, green. But, he went on to say, the intensity of the light is so high that we don't see the "green".
I would wager that it is more the old "color constancy" trick, as a green wall is still a green wall, no matter how much light you throw on it!
