I could be a mile off but I suspect the trick is the filter design that is
designed/intended for such a device. In the past, old style colorimeters
didn't work on LCDs due to their design. I suspect the same is true here.

On the wide gamut CRT, I've used a number of colorimeters and
Spectrophotometers, the later was a bit better but nothing I'd write home
about. Could the current offering of colorimeters and software simply not be
optimized for such devices?
