Hi Graeme,
I've got pretty bad experience with XYZ LUT profiles; they were worse
then Lab LUT profiles. May be it was just that particular vendor...

I doubt this is the reason. For anyone who has compared the relative
accuracy of
CIELab and XYZ clut profiles in representing device behaviour (and it's
inverse),
it's obvious which one to prefer...
