problem?

hi folks

with osX10.3.9, on imac g4 with 17" flat screen, i am
confused trying to setup colorsync profile?

when I use the colorsync setup program in the monitor
preferences, and i check the "expert" box, therefore
using the five sets of sliding controls, i create
custom profile called "custom 1"

1. if i go to the monitor preferences, and i select
"custom1", the screen is much darker than the "IMAC"
default profile.

2. if i go through the colorsync profile maker with
the expert box unselected, i end up with a profile
"custom2"

custom2 is much lighter that both the imac default
profile and the custom1 (expert) profile?

i am a colorsync advanced-beginner and i am totally
confused as to with profile to use.

i need to ultimately match the stock photo house i
work with with so i need it right.

any thoughts?
david
