Monaco will already recognize measurement data from an ECI or IT8 exported as Lab values from Gretag. Colorproof’s basic text file export, however, is simply CMYK and LAB data and would need some reformatting to be recognized by either. But you can get this to work with Gretag’s Profile Maker with little effort. From Colorproof, export the target data as an it8.7/3 file (yeah, I know its an ECI), then open the file in a text editor and edit the first line from “ECI2002” to “it8”, and it should readily open in Gretag’s software (thanks go to an anonymous GMG-Smarty/Colorsync-lurker for the tip J).

Then all you need to do is select this file as both the reference and measurement data within Profile Maker to create a profile. Technically, this isn’t either an it8 or an ECI, as the format and patch count are off from both…but you could think of it as a subset of the ECI (some 1319 patches), and it should render a decent ICC profile.

Importing the data into Profiler is still not possible from my attempts…formatting and patch count issues.

Morten, if you’re still out there and don’t have Profile Maker, you can contact me offlist.
