Richard,

I agree with Neil Snape. We too have a hp Designjet 130nr running the EFI Designer Edition RIP v4.2 for OS X (10.4) and it works like a dream. EFI Desinger Edition for hp supports the new Designjet 90 which is a small format durable dye based inkjet that prints up to 13x19. The RIP supports importing profiles for a proofer or press (we use a local printers Approval profile) as well a custom output profiles. I built a custom CMYK profile on hp Proofing Semi-Gloss using GMB ProfileMaker and a SpectroScan. The designers that share my space use the output as "pre-proofs" when doing comps and presentations and they are delighted when the Approval matches our proofs. When I am away on a seminar tour our just out of the office all the team needs to do is calibrate using the hp automatic closed loop color management and all is well. It pretty much takes care of itself.
