I suggest a rip such as EFI Designer Edition.
It is reasonably priced and very efficient for proofing PDF's. I have it for
the HP DJ 130nr but it works with quite a few Epson, Canon as well.
As Ray said you could also just print to PDF and use a custom profile. I've
not seen consistent results in using this though.

A rip that is a host to multiple clients is an easier and more configurable
condition.
