Unless I misunderstood your question.... you might try giving the ColorThink Pro ColorCast module a try. It is specifically designed for this 'proofing' situation.

ColorCast embeds the effect of one profile inside another. The result is a normal RGB or CMYK ICC profile. As you know, Photoshop doesn't support multicolor profiles but it does support normal RGB and CMYK profiles. So ANY abstract (Lab->Lab effect like Sepia) or 3-10 channel profile's effect is embedded into an RGB or CMYK profile and Photoshop can use it for soft or hard proofing.
