I'm not sure that they were ever intimated to be "dramatic" - Klaus Karcher simply noted that he obtained different results.

After there were many assertions made that the profiles were the same, I pointed out (and you have now confirmed) that the profiles are similar, but not identical.  I think the differences in profiles can clearly account for the difference seen in the output numbers after conversion.  Why these two profiles have these differences, and where they came from, still escapes me. Given that the ROMM-RGB profile is embedded in Adobe software, perhaps someone at Adobe knows. Thanks, Marco, for taking the time to examine the profiles and to comment on their differences.
