No offense to Peter but I the reason is that he's running one of the
Kodak-OEM'd HP 5500 printers that NEED a bit of time to stabilize, unlike the
current crop of Epsons using Ultrachrome ink. Ultrachrome ink pretty darn
stable after about 30 min. or so whereas the HP printers need at least 24-48
hours before they are truly stable. Same used to be true of the old Epson
10000's running the Photo Dye inks. Bottom line, if you're running an Epson
with Ultrachrome ink, you've got nothing to worry about compared to those
proofing using the previous generation of HPs.

I am running 3 of the latest Epsons (7 somethings) using Ulrachrome
inks - when we calibrate these machines we are given a time window bewtween 30 -
60 mins - I use a Matchprint rip and if we use the Kodak Fogra Certification -
we have a similar time window when we can calibrate these proofs. I
assumed others who use different manufacturers Fogra Certification would
have the same requirement.
WE are certainly experiencing proofs coming in Certified to
Fogra which are way out - so I am still not sure of stability
Joseph
We understand that Fogra 39 will be launched before Christmas using a
profile called ISOCoated V2 - but I have not looked at the site so am now not
sure
