If these are Epson 7800s using the new Ultrachorme K3 inks, I'm suggesting that you don't need to wait nearly that long. Assuming normal inking levels, your proofs should be stable within 10-15 minutes. If Fogra is designating the 30-60 minute window, I think they are being overly cautious for inkjet printers using the latest pigment inks.
WE are certainly experiencing proofs coming in Certified to Fogra which are way out - so I am still not sure of stability
I would suggest that if they aren't passing the barn-door Fogra tolerances, it's got little to do with ink stability. If they can't pass a 5 dE tolerance within the first hour, waiting 24 hours isn't going to help!
:-)
Regards, Terry Wyse I am running 3 of the latest Epsons (7 somethings) using Ulrachrome inks - when we calibrate these machines we are given a time window bewtween 30 - 60 mins - I use a Matchprint rip and if we use the Kodak Fogra Certification - we have a similar time window when we can calibrate these proofs. I assumed others who use different manufacturers Fogra Certification would have the same requirement. |
