Title: Re: Grey shadows in Onyx Postershop
Hi Jouni,
the first question is how does Onyx interpretes the file with no ICC colormanagement involved? Are you encountering the same phenomenen?
Did you import the ICC-Profile into Onyx after putting them in the appropriate folder inside the RIP (Output Profiles)? Sometimes Onyx behaves a bit strange if the profiles are just imported through the media manager but are not in the correct place within the RIP structure.
Regards,
Karsten.
Dear list readers,
Just wanted to ask more experienced people if anyone has seen this phenomenon. After setting ink restrictions I linearize and set ink limit for this media. I don't mention any media type here as it seems to be irrelevant in this case.
I set ink limit to 330% (maybe even higher in some cases).
After linearization I print profiling test chart like ECI2002. Measure it twice and average. Create profile using GMB ProfileMaker 5.0.5b.
Typical separation setting in PM5 are:
- Logo Colorful
- Neutral grey
- Correct for optical brighteners
- Ink jet 400 (neutralize)
Calculate default size profile and import it to PosterShop.
Now, with this procedure I get shadows to turn grey, not black. Seems that areas that should have quite high total ink coverage turn grey due to high GCR inside the Postershop. Even ink limit is quite high...
Any ideas that I might be doing wrong here..
