Hi List,
Just wondering if people who are producing their own CMYK proofs
adding a proof control label?
We have been using GMG colorproof RIP (which has been passed on
certain papers for SWOP, Proof4Press, ECI and FOGRA certification),
for the past couple of years.
Up until now we just keep the calibration up to date every week or
so, but I started thinking about measuring each proof and printing
the label.
Would the addition of the label add any more weight or value to the
proof?
Not really sure if it is necessary, but I do realise that magazines
must be getting 'cmyk proofs' in from more and more photographers
that may or may not be within tolerance limits.....
Then again, with offset printing being so hit and miss, is it REALLY
necessary to be within tight delta E tolerances?
Any comments?
Graeme
