I saw the card in prototype driving the Brightside display during SIGGRAPH last August. A very amazing image quality. The Brightside folks have done some competitive testing and are impressed with the results as well. The higher bit depth makes a significant difference.

I got the impresion that the ATI Avivo board will use 10 "real" bits per
data (hardware frame buffer) but 12 bits for actual output through their
analog to digital circuitry. Nevertheless, I plan to jump on that board the
day it appears on my friendly neighbourhood computer store shelves :-)


Amazing the free publicity we give ATI in this thread. Oh well, they deserve
it -- I guess.
