I don’t see why we can’t have both for both situations. Is their a reason why any wide gamut display can’t mimic (if you’ll forgive the term) and allow calibration and profiling in an sRGB behavior and better, like the Artisan, allow the switch in color spaces and profiles on the fly? There IS a OSD setting on the NEC LCD2180 WG LED to sRGB. The manual states “sRGB provides a standard colour space that is compatible with conventional display monitors.”
