10:1 contrast ratio? That seems so low compared to the usual contrast ratio
figures we see quoted here and in common monitor technical litterature, like
350:1, 500:1. Could someone say why such a low contrast ratio figure have
become meaningful in the context of specifying LCD performance and viewing
angles? And how is that actually measured: place a non-contact colorimeter
at 170° off the normal of the screen, measure the white luminance, measure
the black luminance, and ratio out the two figures? Is it actually going to
be that low?
