Thank you for the explanation. I understand now. I was not aware that this
is standard way in which the industry specifies a display's viewing angle.
Personally, I find it an odd way, because it does not really indicate at
what angle an average viewer will *start* perceiving a noticeable shift in
appearance. Although a "noticeable shift in appearance" is also partially a
subjective criterion, there must be a way to appraise this feature
objectively in a way that is more easily relatable to everyday use.
