Richard,
Yo have two additional ways to limit your files TAC without any degradation to their colors and details. For image files, you can use Alwan Photoshop Plug-ins (InkAmount and DevcieLinkProfiles) to measure and limit your file TAC while preserving your black channel. For PDF files, you can use Alwan CMYK Optimizer (WorkStation or Server Edition).
Kind Regards,

That would be the best way they should be able to supply you with their profile and simply converting to that in photoshop would do the trick... You can do a conversion in photoshop under convert to profile and use a custom CMYK which will allow you to put in whatever total ink limit you want.

I have a publication that is requesting a Total Area Coverage of 280%. SWOP yields a 300% TAC. Is there a simple way to ensure my images fall within 280%? Thanks!
