I see how the low prices make all these options exciting to the prospective
buyers. But are the results comparable to those achieved with higher-priced
solutions (e.g., EyeOne Display 2, Optix XR)?
I also understand that middle-of-the-road users may neither need nor have
any use for stellar results, and "good enough" may be all they are after.
Add to this the enduring love of the Western consumer for cheap consumer
goods (VHS trumping Beta was a classic example), and this latest crop of
gadgets will probably sell like hot cakes once the companies figure out the
"winning" marketing angle.
Still, the question remains: what does this do for the "high-end" consumer?
