Hi, Matthew.
If I'm not mistaken, one advantage of the EFI Colorproof RIP over ColorBurst
is that Colorproof provides the option of creating multiple queues, all
active simultaneously, whereas with the ColorBurst RIP only one queue can be
active at any particular time; a different queue must be specifically
activated each time it's needed by changing what the application calls
"environments."
This multiple queue function is very useful in office environments and in
places where multiple output scenarios are needed on a regular basis and
with minimum fuss. If the manufacturers could overcome that limitation,
ColorBurst would certainly gain against this sort of competition.
Regards.
