I have received some input off-list on this but confusion still lingers.
Maybe I'm putting the cart before the horse or asking the wrong question or providing too much or not enough info, who knows....
Heres the situ.
Every "true(six-channel)" Hexachrome output profile I produce via PMP is six-channel with 600% Ink Black. Every CMYK output profile I've examined is four-channel with 400% Ink Black. This makes sense, six colors at 100% = 600% Ink black, four colors at 100% = 400% Ink black.
With this established, how would one determine the Total Area Coverage for a situation where you are dealing with 600% black? Wouldn't you want to use a target where the black is a build of all six colors? If not what is going on?
I've received some comments that seem logical until the concept of 600% ink comes into play.
TIA again for any help.
