Yes, and as I understand it, SWOP certification is limited to proofing
systems, rather than individual companies or specific proofs, so it still
falls short of being equivilant to ISO certification. One could out put a color
bar with patches from the IT8-7.3 ( or the whole IT8 chart) and compare the
measurements to equivilant patches within TR001 and "verify" their proofs, but
this isn't really certification, and the likely hood of using the same stock as
TR001? AS far as I know, SWOP hasn't gotten a printer certification off the
ground yet. Gracol is implementing the Master Printer program which will asure
that a particular printer has been qualified (rather than actually certified) to
implement G7 methodology and that a press sheet meets the required criteria, so
this seems to be a step toward that.
