A couple of comments for Dave Tuemmler:
1. ColorBurst has a special offer for current RIP owners (the full
version,
not the one bundled with Epson 4800s) - they'll sell you a Pulse w/UV
for
$795 - about a couple hundred less than the retail version, IIR. (But
you
have to drive it with their SpectralVision module, no Monaco software
included)
I will look into that offer. I have never used SpectraVision or Monoco
software. We have the unsupported BasicColor Print but it seems to
build adequate profiles. Am I giving up a lot by not having access to
the Monoco software?
2. They explain that yes, they created existing linearization files &
paper
profiles with the UV-cut spectro, so to *re-linearize* one of their lin
files, you need to use a like-kind spectro. But a user can start over,
and
create *new* linearization & profile with a non-UV EyeOne. I have done
just
that, using Epson's Enhanced Matte paper (which definitely uses OBA) &
ProfileMaker Pro, with excellent results. (fine art/presentation
prints, not
proofing)
I should probably try this approach first, of course I will need to
upgrade to the full version to load custom profiles.
Thanks for the info John.
