I've been involved in printing long enough to have made it to 5
DRUPAs - but I can't recall seeing much by way of US print and
control technology that was worth putting on the shopping list.
Apart from the Apple II and the Macintosh ;-)
Profit has always been put way before quality in the US printing
industry. That has been my view since I started work in typesetting
22 years ago and wondered why my beloved Berthold kit was largely
ignored by US typesetters.
Could this be why you still have a "visual standard" and no contract
proof worthy of the name?
