Hi
Peter
That caste colour sounds odd to me. ISO Coated gives us a
slightly blue-biased neutral paper base colour (on FOGRA-approved
media) and is good for a less than 2 dE reading. Are you using the
latest ISO Coated profile or one of the older ones?
We did
some work with a local printer who are running 2 HP digital presses
and litho on a Komori. I got them to run the Altona test page and
then measured the FOGRA target. The paper white on their trade
stocks was near identical to the FOGRA white on our proofs.
Everything else (apart from 100% CMYK on the litho sheet) was way
out as they had little interest in colour control - but the paper
white was very accurate.
No client likes seeing ink black and
paper white and would prefer to sign off a full-gamut proof on Epson
photo glossy and then moan that the printer hasn't done the job
right ;-)
I was running the latest Creo/Kodak Fogra 27 l proofs - they have some
great new blue white paper - which they have done the work on - unfortunatly it
is not the right colour for Fogra so we have to have yellow tint on the sheet -
However their old paper with very slight blue tint on does pass that fogra test
- BUT they are unable to certify it.
But we are not using ISOCoatedFogra27L but ISOCoated.ICC which is
closer
