Actually the opposite (I have both). When I get the “Too many errors” I switch to the slower A model which often works past the error.
IMHO, iO is still in "promiseware" state.. Will it never work as promised.. We'll see..
I tested the iCColor just prior to its release and found it took a few firmware updates to become rock solid. The i0 is probably in the same boat. I’m just now testing the new i1 Isis (so far, so good). It takes time for lots of users to run lots of materials through these devices and find all the potential issues. GretagMacbeth isn’t alone. I found a number of materials that simply could not be read with the DTP-41T (like backlit material made on an Inkjet).
When the i0 works (which is most of the time), it’s awesome and I love it. I’ve run into an issue where it could not read Canvas ink jet material and a fix is on it’s way. But with a new device, you’re on the bleeding edge.
