Well I can’t
think of any other device off hand for measuring translucent material (and no, I
don’t consider using a Spectrolino T one patch at a time a viable solution). The
DTP-41T has worked with all kinds of translucent stuff but its not immune to
failing on others like dense translucent ink jet material. For a LightJet or
Lambda, no worries.
There exists
already an automatic spectrophotometer which is able to measure all of these
kinds of materials. The Spectro LFP RT from BARBIERI electronic (an Italian
manufacturer) is the ideal tool to measure fully automatically all materials (transparent
and no, thin materials, thick materials up to 20mm, heavy materials and so on).
Advantages of the Spectro LFP are speed, automatic measurement also in
transparent mode, swichable measuring aperture (2 and 6mm), versatility and
cost. The instrument works well i.e. for Lambda, flatbed and large format
printers, textile printers and so on.

Hope this
information helps.
