All -
from time to time I photograph other's flat artwork, such as acrylic or oils, for giclee reproduction. These are usually printed on gicleec canvas or fine art paper.
I have noticed recently that in some cases there seems to be a fluorescent or strong UV-reflecting component
in some of these so-called "pure oil" paintings. Sometimes the artist coats the painting with a clear coat as well.
This creates insanely difficult color problems in a few cases, with what appears to be "layered" reflections, color shifts, moire, ad nauseum.
I have used lighting polarizers, multiple lights, on-camera polarizers, etc.
Any feed back on this, tips on management, voodo........
Am I stuck w/ multiple photographs and layering in Photoshop?
Best regards,
David Saffir
