I guess I qualify as an expert on Gimp-Print and Gutenprint :-)
I sent Edmund a note offline with detailed comments on his review. The
review mentioned some things that I'm not aware of and that I'd like to
better understand. I'm on vacation in Alaska; the hotel I'm in happens
to have wifi, so I'm seeing this, but we're leaving in an hour or so.
Roland, please feel free to forward my note to the list or otherwise
comment publicly on this. As is the norm for FOSS projects, we don't
much go in for NDA's or other nonsense like this :-)
