I believe this is the case, Rich. The way I understand monitor profiles, by
the time "absolute" measurements are digested by the profiling package,
after going through umpteen patches, physically, with the instrument stuck
on the face of the screen, all that is left for storing into the monitor
profile is "relative" colorimetry. Now, v4 profiles have an additional tag
called chad which, supposedly, if I got this right, would allow anyone to
recover the original absolute colorimetry. But I have yet to try this.
