Hi All,
I am printing a shot of a model on a 9800 using ultrachrome inks and
photoblack.
The media is fujihunt satin which is very similar to epson semi gloss.
I have created a profile for this paper using an eye-one and
profilemaker 5.
The colours are well in gamut before conversion.
The problem is a get a kind of digital blooming or halo in the
transition point between the hotspots and midtones on the face.
The image has been professionaly photographed and scanned so there is
no issue there.
I have converted using both perceptual & relative colourimetric
rendering intents.
I have printed it on epson semi-gloss using the supplied epson 9800
paper profile as a control and maybe i get ever so slightly less
blooming.
What does the group think i am seeing ?
Is it the limited range of pigment inks or something else?
