Marco,
There is only a little difference - EFI uses part of the device (may
be it's serial number) as a dongle to unlock private features.
Otherwise it is identical. At least with the old style EyeOne Pro
there are no problems on using it for linearization of a Fiery.
Didn't try the new EyeOne Pro on this, though.
Did you do this on a Mac ? If so, did you try to measure a second
time ? Sometimes ColorWise has problems to recognize the EyeOne Pro
on the first try. On the second try it allways works (don't unplug,
don't restart ColorWise, jusk click "Measure" again).

Hi Rob.
Recently, while working for a client, I tried to see whether I
could fool
the EFI RIP into thinking that my EyeOne Pro was an ES-1000, but it
didn't
recognize it, and I had to perform the linearization routine using the
copier's scanner instead. Bummer...
There must be some hardware difference between EyeOne Pro and
ES-1000 that
the software reacts to.
