I very much liked the new interface of v4.0 & especially the
control of the black point
but I have been spoilt by the DDC features in v3.1.1 which have not
YET been included
into v4.0. I have been told that this will happen in an update to
appear soon.

The support of hardware-calibration in basICColor display 4.0 is
nearly finished and we'll release version 4.0.1 in the next few weeks.
BTW the basICColor display 4.0.0 FINAL RELASE is already out ... ;-)
