The combo HCT (Velvia) - ICC-Scan - Ektachrome (now Chrome 100) works
very well with my Eversmart and colors are accurate (I shoot mostly Velvia).
The previous profiles I made with a IT8 batch target were not even
approaching. But I can't talk on the gamut compression losses, for I
send directly the wide gamut image to the printer custom profile. Don
Hutchinson also makes IT8 targets on Fuji film. The problem with Kodak
IT8 targets sold in batches is that the numbers provided are sometimes
"generic".

How many people on this list use HutchTargets (http://
www.hutchcolor.com/) for capturing ICC profiles of scanners? I have
come to the conclusion that these targets (both transp & refl) will
capture far too much information to be of any real use for color
accuracy -- likely losing accuracy in the gamut compression when
converting to a working RGB space. However, before I give up entirely
on Hutch, I'd like to open up a dialog to the ColorSync mailing list
to get your experiences.
Whaddya use? IT8s or Hutch? Thanks in advance.
