Hi Jonathan,

Try other RIP, I had a major headache with those Oris Color Tuner Rips. I changed to BestColor 5 with great sucess, got better detail, color accuracy and no banding at 720dpi bidirectional printing. I was on a Epson 7000 and 9000.

I¹m getting banding in gradients on my Epson 9600. If you take a gradient
and rotate it in any direction the banding rotates as well. The Epson is
functioning properly, all nozzles are firing, the heads are aligned, and the
paper feed is set correctly. I am running at 720dpi unidirectional through
Oris ColorTuner. I get the same banding through Windows and OS X Tiger as
well. The gradients that I am running are from 100 to 0 over 20 inches. I
have created this gradient in Quark 6.5, Illustrator CS2, and Photoshop CS2
and I get banding in all three. I got the same results when I sent the files
to three other companies using a 9600. I am aware of a couple of fixes such
as adding noise and increasing the resolution but these are not viable
options for us as we must maintain our current level of production and
quality.
I have two questions.
1. Is there anything else that I can do to greatly reduce or eliminate the
banding with my current system?
2. Is there any inkjets out there at least 40 inches wide that can print a
smooth gradient at a production rate of about 20-25 28²x40² proofs a day?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
